Welcome to Gilbert Cellars :: Celebrating 10 years of winemaking in Yakima, WA
Here in Yakima, Washington, our ancestors chose the agrarian life in 1897. The simple joys of our rural community, and the products it bears, still speak to us today.
In 2004, the fifth generation of Gilberts began the work of producing true-to-varietal wines from in Washington state. Our wines are produced with great care from grapes grown on the Wahluke Slope, in the Horse Heaven Hills, and the Ahtanum Valley. Winemaker Justin Neufeld hand-crafts seven different varietals into 10 fine wines, including our flagship red blends, Allobroges and Left Bank, and our dry, salmon hued Rose of Mourvedre.
Besides making wine, we make our own fun, which involves throwing a party (or two) and inviting our favorite musicians and artists to share their talents with us. We are excited to honor the adventureous spirit of Gilbert Peak, which we are featuring on an entirely new label series that will soon grace all of our wines, starting with the Rose. Gilbert Peak is a source of inspiration, but more immediately, a source of water for irrigation. Its geological history and influence on our soils is timeless.
We believe that what we’re doing matters: we’re making an authentic product that comes from the place that we love. Cheers!
